IT Technician Nationwide (Canada) Full Time

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician to join our team and provide essential technical support. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, managing hardware and software setups, and maintaining network systems. This is a contract position with the opportunity for extension based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Install and manage computer hardware, peripherals, and related accessories.
  • Respond to help desk tickets, ensuring efficient resolution of support requests.
  • Assist with networking tasks, including VPN setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve communication and problem-solving strategies.
  • Document IT procedures and maintain an internal knowledge base for future reference.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in IT support, desktop support, or a similar technical role (minimum of 1 year).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple, clear terms.
  • Familiarity with networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with major operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve both hardware and software issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with networking protocols, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of support tickets and prioritize tasks effectively.

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Technicians must possess the relevant tools and resources based on their level of experience.
